Let's Help Crested Ibises Survive!
Crested ibises are one of the endangered animals in Japan. They became endangered because of overhunting and development. People tried to help them live safely, but they died one by one. However, we still had some Chinese-born crested ibises on Sado Island in Niigata. They were a gift from the Chinese government in the 1990s. Since then, people have been breeding these crested ibises. There are about 500 in Japan now. I think it is important for us to protect their environment.
